The College of Business was sad to learn Associate Professor of Accounting Gary B. McCombs passed away suddenly Sunday morning, April 20, 2008.

Professor McCombs was an intergral member of the Department of Accounting and Finance for almost 30 years teaching introductory accounting and accounting information systems auditing courses as well as being responsible for coordinating coop and internships for the Accounting area. Professor McCombs was devoted to students as well as the department and college and published extensively with colleagues in and outside of the department.

Funeral arrangements are being handled by the McCabe Funeral Home of Canton located at 851 North Canton Center Road, Canton, Michigan 48187. Visitation is scheduled for Tuesday, April 22, 2008 from 4:00pm - 8:00pm and again on Wednesday, April 23, 2008 from 11:00am - 1:00pm with the funeral service at 1:00pm at the funeral home.

In leiu of flowers the family is asking that donations be made in honor of Professor McCombs to the Great Teacher in Accounting fund which provides scholarships to several students each year.
