Professional Summary
Dr. Waltman’s PhD is from the University of Texas at Austin. Prior to joining EMU, Waltman taught at Auburn University and Louisiana State University. At the latter he developed the first course in International Business Communication in this country. At EMU Waltman worked with colleagues to develop the Merlanti Business Ethics Program. He worked with Sandy Defebaugh and Denise Tanguay to develop the college’s Ethos Statement, which eventually evolved (through the efforts of the Dean's Board of Student Advisors) into the COB’s Ethos Week observances.

Dr. Waltman’s teaching interests are in the areas of managerial communication, corporate social responsibility, business ethics, and leadership. Waltman has developed several online courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
