Dr. Brickner's teaching and research interests are in the areas of financial statement auditing and financial accounting. He is the recipient of the College of Business ' Teaching Excellence Award in 2004 and the EMU Alumni Association's Teaching Excellence Award in 2005. In addition, he is a four-time nominee for the Michigan Association of CPA's Accounting Educator of the Year Award (2002-2005). He has presented his research at a number of academic conferences and he has served as a paper reviewer, discussant, and moderator for regional conferences of the American Accounting Association. In addition he has served as a textbook reviewer for several financial accounting texts. Dr. Brickner previously worked as an auditor in the Cleveland office of Ernst & Young.
