Bachelors of Business Administration-Major in Entrepreneurship

Starting and managing a new business has been part of the American dream for generations, and the practice continues. Every year in the U.S. entrepreneurs form about 650,000 new firms, with those employing fewer than 100 employees creating more than half of the new jobs. These firms (including hundreds in southeast Michigan) provide exciting career opportunities in many newly emerging industries like advanced manufacturing, information technology, biotechnology, and health services.

Students majoring in Entrepreneurship should readily find employment in these firms. Opportunities abound to quickly learn about running various facets of a business and to grow with the company. The major will also provide excellent training to those wishing to start their own firms.

The Entrepreneurship curriculum uses an innovative sequence of courses designed to give the undergraduate student an in-depth understanding and appreciation of new-venture creation and growth management. These courses provide the needed basic concepts and help develop skills while exposing students to best practices in various functional areas.

Faculty Program Coordinators for this program are Professors Sanjib Chowdhury and Stephanie Newell
