Bachelors of Business Administration-Major General Business
The general business degree will prepare you to enter the private or public sector and postion yourself for advancement. You may want to consider entrepreneurship, international trade, or functional management as a career direction. Many graduates start out as management trainees, although better entry-level career opportunities are typically available for student with strong internship or co-op experience. These students likely made a careful selection of restricted electives to build around a particular interest. You'll have the flexibility to select the courses that will most benefit your career development. You will select at least 12 hours from at least three different departments.
Career opportunities are available with banks, service companies, retail businesses, and manufacturing establishments, among others, in various capacities depending on your interests. These positions include functional specialists in human resource (Such as human resource manager, training director), marketing (sales trainee), and store or location mangement (department manager). If your plans include entering a family business, you'll find courses geared to preparing you for that option as well.
