MBA Specialization in Finance
This specialization was developed for students interested in learning how finance theory is used in practice by finance professionals. The 12-credit specialization is designed to provide the depth of specialization necessary for success in the complex and dynamic financial profession, including careers in financial institutions, corporate finance, and investments. The program was built with input from numerous sources in the finance community and parallels much of the Chartered Financial Analysts (CFA) body of knowledge.
After completing the MBA Specialization in Finance, students will be able to identify and manage the risk of investments, value public and private firms, along with many types of securities, evaluate projects with respect to their fit with firm strategy, determine how much capital a firm needs to raise, and assess the effects of global issues on firm value and its operations.
To receive an MBA with the Finance specialization, you must complete all MBA foundation*, core, an innovation restricted elective, an analytical skills restricted elective, and all courses required for the specialization.
Faculty advisors for the program are Drs. Diallo, Moeller, and Tessema.
