Two years the chapter received the next level "chapter of merit" and we are researching to document the status achieved by the chapter in 1990-94 and 96-97.

FINANCIAL SUPPORT: The Accounting programs benefit from the past and current gifts of alumni and friends.  Student scholarships are awarded at the annual College of Business Honors Banquet (usually in April) from these funds:  Jo and Dan Devine Scholarship Fund, Linda M. Shipley Memorial Scholarhip, Great Teachers in Accounting Scholarship Fund, Richard and Linda Pifer/Plante and Moran Scholarship Fund, Tammy Machovec Endowment Fund, and Okopny/IIA Memorial Scholarship.  Funds for faculty and student organization support come from the Accounting Development Fund, UHY Advisors Accounting and Technology Fund, Pietrasiuk/Kelly Tax Endowment Fund, Internal Audit Development Fund, and Accounting Faculty Research Fund.

GREAT TEACHERS IN ACCOUNTING SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM:   The EMU Great Teachers in Accounting Endowed Scholarship Fund was established to honor teachers like Professors Clark, Kruse, Keros, and McCombs who have demonstrated a commitment to students’ success in the classroom and beyond in their careers.  Each year four students (a junior, a senior, and two graduate students) receive funds to assist them in completing the 150-hour combined BBA-Accounting and Master of Science in Accounting program.  Donations can be made to the EMU Foundation www.emufoundation.org then, search for Great Teachers in Accounting using the "search" button to the right in the Gift Designation section.

RESEARCH FELLOWS PROGRAM: Dr. Zafar Khan mentored Ms. Ruth Naebeck (BBA/MSA '08) during the 2007-08 year in the university's Research Fellows Program sponsored by the Twenty Club and funded with a donation made in honor of Emeritus Professor William C.
